Quantum spin systems constitute archetypical many-body systems.
They are used not only to model magnetism but also to formulate
and understand quantum algorithms as well as foundations of
many-body thermodynamics. In addition, quantum spin systems
often serve as testbeds for new algorithms.
 

In my presentation I will highlight basic concepts and results for a broad audience.
